Catalogue of the Egyptian Ephydroidea (Diptera: Schizophora: Acalyptratae)

We present a catalogue of all known taxa of the superfamily Ephydroidea in Egypt. Old World synonymies, type localities, type depositories, world distributions by biogeographic realm(s) and country, Egyptian localities and dates of collection are provided. A total number of 117 species belonging to 45 genera, 18 tribes, 7 subfamilies, and representing 3 families has been catalogued. The treated families are: Ephydridae (shore flies or brine flies), Drosophilidae (vinegar flies or fruit flies) and Braulidae (bee lice). Diasemocera Bezzi, 1895 (Type species: Psilopa nigrotaeniata Bezzi, 1895 [= Psilopa roederi Girschner, 1889]) is resurrected from synonymy with Psilopa and the following four new synonyms of Diasemocera are proposed: Domina Hutton (Type species: Domina metallica Hutton), Discocerinella Mercier (Type species: Discocerinella omonvillea Mercier, 1927 [= Notiphila pulicaria Haliday, 1839]), Trimerinoides Cresson (Type species: Trimerina adfinis Cresson) and Helaeomyia Cresson, 1941 (Type species: Psilopa petrolei Coquillett). Two new combinations are proposed in Scatella for Ephydra australis Walker, 1853 and Opomyza guttata Macquart, 1843. Two species are resurrected from synonymy: Scatella lacustris (Meigen, 1830), revised status and Trixoscelis chilensis (Schiner, 1868), revised status (Trixoscelididae). A revision of the Old World species of Leptopsilopa Cresson (Insecta: Diptera: Ephydridae)

Diagnoses and illustrations of three Leptopsilopa species known in the Old World: L. africana Cresson, L. mutabilis Cresson and L. pollinosa (Kertesz) are provided. Three new synonyms are proposed: L. aurata (Canzoneri and Meneghini) and L. tibialis (Canzoneri and Meneghini) = L. africana; Psilopa confeteae Canzoneri and Munari = L. pollinosa. Three other species are removed from Leptopsilopa and combined with Athyroglossa, as A. leonensis (Canzoneri and Rampini), new combination, A. mianii (Canzoneri) new combination and A. rossii (Canzoneri and Raffone), new combination.
Critical forms in Sicilian populations of annual Lysimachia L. (Primulaceae)

Based on recent literature, in the Primrose family the genus Lysimachia L. absorbed Anagallis L. (1). As a result, new name combinations have been introduced for this genus, thus involving the increase of specific and intraspecific taxa (for Italian flora see 2 and 3). A further consequence, focused in this contribution, concerns the binomial combination Lysimachia arvensis (L.) U.Manns & Anderb., which has different synonyms and includes several specific and intraspecific taxa.
